Mother's Day

Mother's Day

To all the abortion mamas around the world,

Whether you have living children or not you are a mother. Your pregnancy made you a mother, and no one can take that from you. Whatever reason you chose abortion, remember that it was in your best interest at the time, and that means it was in your baby’s best interest. You are not only a mother, but a brave and courageous one.

Things you may feel on Mother’s Day:

  • Sad

  • Angry

  • Invisible

  • Regretful

  • Relieved

  • Curious

  • Defensive

  • Quiet

  • Reserved

  • Longing

All feelings are normal.
Don’t fight them, just ride them-
allow them to move through you.

“I’m feeling ________ and that’s okay”

“I’m feeling ________. Nothing has gone wrong.”

“How would love honor this feeling?”

And if you’re longing for a way to celebrate yourself and your baby, here’s some ideas:

  • Buy yourself a plant or some flowers.

  • Take yourself out to a special meal or event,
or ask someone you love to go out with you for a special meal or event.

  • Write a letter to yourself and or write a letter to your baby. Then tuck it away somewhere safe, burn it with some sage, let it float away in the river, or bury it under a plant. It feels amazing to speak your truth into words.
